Payment Terms:

South West Maritime Academy have a straight forward set of payment terms for booking courses whether it be as a individual delegate, group or company booking.

i) All payment for individual delegates must be made in full two weeks prior to the course commencing to have a course place confirmed, or on the day of booking if it is within said two week period.

ii) Company bookings and bespoke corporate training must be paid for prior to course commencement, and a deposit may be requested to reserve bespoke training dates to ensure availability and to secure extra instructors and facilities as required. 

iii) Companies and organisations may be eligible for and request an Account with SWMA which will provide access to  a 30 day payment term post-training delivery. Please contact us by phone to discuss this.

Cancellations and Booking Transfers

If the Client/Delegate cancels a confirmed booking with South West Maritime Academy more than 14 days before the commencement of the course, and the Client has already paid for the course, a full refund of course fees will be given, less a £50.00 administration fee.

If you are unable to attend your course and have to cancel, the Client/Delegate may be able to transfer to another available date. All transfer requests must be received in writing no later than 14 days prior to the commencement date of the course. Due to loss of business experienced by South West Maritime Academy, email cancellations during the weekend period are strictly not acceptable for courses that commence on a Monday or Tuesday.

If the Client/Delegate cancels a confirmed booking with South West Maritime Academy 14 days or less before the commencement of the course or fails to attend a booked course, payment of the full course fees is required and the Client/Delegate will be invoiced accordingly. If the Client/Delegate has already paid for the course, no refund of course fees will be given.

If, at the time of cancellation, the Client/Delegate reschedules the course booking for an alternative date not more than 12 months from the start date of the original course, 50% of the course fees for the original booking will be credited against the course fees for the rescheduled booking, which are payable in full.

In the event of a major crisis or natural disaster or similar event outside of the control of South West Maritime Academy interrupting business, or a forced closure for the same reasons enforced by or created as a result of UK Government restriction or dictat, or forced by extension of the same, no refunds will be offered but South West Maritime Academy will extend the offer of deferral of bookings to future dates once the crisis or closure and/or restrictions are lifted and training can re-commence.

Data Protection Policy

South West Maritime Academy comply with the General Date Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 with all data handled and proceeded by South West Maritime Academy  outside of the provisions as set out below by our authorising bodies, whose requests for data collection and handling fall under and are carried our within the confines of their own Date Protection policies.
