If you are seeking a career that is people-oriented, fast-paced, and offers the opportunity to travel to the world’s most exclusive destinations, the role of a Superyacht Steward or Stewardess (Interior Crew) is an exceptional choice.

The Role: Excellence in Service

As a Stewardess, you are responsible for the "interior" experience of the guests. This role demands the absolute highest standards of hospitality, discretion, and attention to detail. Whether the yacht is on a private owner trip or a high-end commercial charter, your goal is to provide seamless, seven-star service.

  • Service: Silver service, cocktail mixology, and wine presentation.
  • Housekeeping: Maintaining cabins to a pristine, "hotel-standard" finish.
  • Laundry Operations: Managing delicate designer fabrics and guest garments.
  • Event Hosting: Setting elaborate themed tablescapes and assisting with guest parties.
  • Provisioning: Working with the Chef to source and manage luxury food and beverages.
  • Floral Design: Creating and maintaining fresh flower arrangements throughout the yacht.

The Essentials: Getting Started

Luxury yachting is a highly regulated maritime industry. Before you can begin applying for roles, you must secure the following mandatory qualifications:

1. STCW Basic Safety Training

A mandatory 5-day programme covering Fire Fighting, First Aid, and Sea Survival. This ensures you can act decisively in an emergency. No yacht will hire you without this.

2. ENG1 Medical Certificate

An MCA-approved medical exam that confirms you are fit for duty at sea. You must have this original document to work on any commercial vessel.

Standing Out: Added Value Skills

Captain’s and Purser's are always looking for "multi-talented" crew. If you have a background in any of the following, ensure it is highlighted on your CV:

Refine Your Skills in Palma

Our sister school, Palma Sea School, is located in the heart of the Mediterranean yachting hub. They offer RYA Competent Crew and Powerboat courses—ideal if you want to be a "dual-role" crew member who can help on deck or drive the guest tenders.

Recruitment: Making the Connection

Honing your CV for the yachting industry is an art form. We have partnered with industry-specific recruitment experts who specialise in placing interior crew on the world's most prestigious vessels.
