Mastering Basic Life-Saving Skills: Elementary First Aid

The STCW Elementary First Aid (EFA) course is a vital one-day module for all seafarers, providing the essential knowledge and practical skills required to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency at sea. In the isolated environment of a ship, every second counts; this training ensures that crew members can stabilize a situation until more advanced medical care is available.

At South West Maritime Academy, we combine expert classroom instruction with realistic, hands-on scenarios. From assessing casualties to performing life-saving CPR, we ensure you have the confidence to manage medical emergencies effectively within a maritime setting.

EFA is the first core module of the STCW Basic Safety Training package. It is a fundamental requirement for anyone aiming to work on superyachts, cruise ships, merchant vessels, or offshore installations.
