What is the RYA Powerboat Level 1 course?

The RYA Powerboat Level 1 course is an introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment.

This is a great introduction to power boating which emphasizes safety aspects in particular launching, which are sometimes missed out on courses where the powerboats are already in the water.

Launch and recovery (8-11 year old’s observe)
Preparation of boat and crew
Boat handling
Picking up and securing to a mooring buoy
Leaving and coming alongside

Prerequisites: A minimum age of 8. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate stating that they must be accompanied by an adult.

Duration: 1 day

Cost: £130 per person. This includes all manuals, certification. Please note all price are exclusive of VAT.

Location: The training locations vary depending on tide and weather.
